Blue light

What is blue light and how does it affect our vision?

First of all, it is important to know that light helps regulate our internal biological clock. Indeed, the latter influences our sleep, concentration, productivity, dynamism, as well as our health in general.

More specifically, blue light is part of the spectrum of light. It is emitted by the sun, but also by artificial light sources, such as LED bulbs and screens (smartphones, tablets, computers, televisions, e-readers).

Why is it important to protect our eyes with anti-blue light glasses?

It is the blue-violet light that can be dangerous because it's not filtered when it passes through the eye and reaches our retina.

But computer screens, tablets, smartphones, e-readers or even LED bulbs, diffusing peaks of blue light called High Energy Visible (HEV) light. Thus, prolonged exposure to these light sources can cause eyestrain. However, turquoise blue light, is beneficial because it regulates our circadian system (alternation between wakefulness and sleep) as well as our mood, and allows us to stay awake during the day.

The impact on visual health

Disturbed sleep, visual fatigue, headaches, increased risk of premature aging of the eyes in the long term... The blue light emitted by screens and its potential effects on health are of growing concern.

Studies show that part of the spectrum of LED lights is harmful to the retina and we are currently in an era of digital overexposure, due to the proliferation of digital LED tools. In order to protect ourselves from these harmful rays, we can opt for special lenses against blue light.

For this, we offer the TEK-NO LOGIC glasses, specially designed for connected people, and to protect their eyes from blue light.
